Muhammad Zafar Iqbal.

Muhammad Zafar Iqbal is an honorable person of Bangladesh. He is an author of science fiction and children's literature. Muhammad Zafar Iqbal was born on 23 December 1952 in Sylhet. He was born in a Muslim literate family. His father name Faizur Rahman and mother name Ayesha Foyez. His father was police officer and a writer. His father was killed by Pakistany army in the liberation war in 1971. They are six brother and sister. His brother and sister name is Humayun Ahmed, Ahsan Habib, Sufia Haider, Momtaz Shaheed and Rukhsana Ahmed.

Muhammad Zafar Iqbal started his writing at the age of seven. His father encouraged him for writing at an early age and he wrote his first science fiction work at the age of seven.

Muhammad Zafar Iqbal completed his SSC from Bogra Zilla School. After his SSC exam, he come to Dhaka and got admission in Dhaka College and passed HSC exam in 1970. He completed his B.Sc. in Physics from Dhaka University. Then he went Washington for PhD and earned the degree from University of Washington. He worked here five years in the California Institute of Technology as a post-doctoral researcher. Then he joined another institute as a researcher scientist and worked here about six years. In 1994 he came back Bangladesh and joined Shahjalal University of Science and Technology.

In 1978 Muhammad Zafar Iqbal married with Dr. Yasmeen Haque. They have children Nabil and Yeshim.

Muhammad Zafar Iqbal is well known as science fiction writer. He mainly writes science fiction for younger reader. He is also a professor of Shahjalal University of Science and Technology. He also wrote so many non-fictions based on physics and mathematics.

Muhammad Zafar Iqbal wrote a story based on liberation war 1971 and later a film was made by this story naming 'Amar Bondhu Rashed'. Muhammad Zafar Iqbal is a very important and famous person in Bangladesh. Everyone loves him for his creative work. He played an important and leading role in founding Bangladesh Mathematical Olympiad.
